Do you want to choose your own wheels and trucks later or do you want everything already set up for you? These are all questions that can make a big difference in price.

When you buy a 50 dollar longboard, you can bet on it that you would not enjoy it as much as when you buy a longboard that is a little bit more expensive. Why is that? Chances are that this very cheap longboard has very cheap wheels and trucks and they will not ride as smoothly and not last as long as you want it to be. You want something you enjoy right from the start. Otherwise you will be done longboarding very fast.

We don't recommend buying a longboard at a department store as they usually do not have the knowledge about longboards and cannot help you with your questions you might have. Department stores usually also have the cheaper versions longboards and chances are they won't last as long and you might not enjoy it as much as a longboard from a specialty store. And another thing: they do not have many brands and choices.

You will get good quality trucks and wheels and you will definitely feel the difference if you can compare it with a cheap one. If you want to start with a deck, you can get a good deck for around 45 dollars and up. But if you already ask how much are longboards then you probably thinking about a complete.

When you start longboarding, you probably do not want to spend too much on longboards. That is not necessary. You do not really want to worry about top of the line right now. When you practice and get skilled and want to upgrade you know by that time what you want and which wheels and trucks and you can always change those. But when you are a beginner, start with a board around 100 dollars and you will have lots of fun. The board will hold up, the wheels are smooth and you can go a long way with it.
