If you're more interested in skatepark tricks and street skating, a traditional skateboard with a lighter, more agile design would be ideal.

When it comes to customizing your skateboard, or more specifically, your skateboard, there are several key factors to consider that can significantly enhance your skating experience. The deck's concave, for instance, plays a crucial role as it affects your grip and control during tricks. Similarly, the height of the truck can influence the board's stability and its turning capabilities.

The size of the wheels is another important aspect to consider. Smaller wheels are typically better suited for technical street skating, providing more precision and control. On the other hand, larger wheels are ideal for smoother rides and seamless transitions, especially when cruising or tackling ramps and bowls.

The material of your deck is also a critical consideration. Options range from traditional maple, which is known for its durability and pop, to lightweight bamboo, and even high-tech carbon fiber. Each material offers different advantages in terms of durability, weight, and flexibility, so it's worth researching and testing out different types to see what suits your style and needs best.

Bearings are another component that shouldn't be overlooked. High-quality bearings contribute significantly to the smoothness and speed of your ride, making your skateboarding glide effortlessly across surfaces.

Lastly, personalizing your skateboard with unique grip tape designs, stickers, or custom paint jobs can add a touch of individuality and flair to your ride. Remember, skateboarding is not just about performance, but also about expressing your personal style and having fun. So, take the time to create a skateboard that truly reflects you.

Our skateboard shop is here to help you navigate the vast selection of boards (1000+), components, and styles to find the perfect fit for your skateboarding journey. Don't hesitate to ask for advice, and most importantly, enjoy the ride!

What size skateboard should I get?

Most street and park skaters ride decks between 7.75” and 8.5” wide. Wider boards (8.5” and up) offer more stability for cruising, bowls, or vert. Smaller boards are lighter and easier to flip.

What’s the difference between a deck and a complete skateboard?

A deck is just the wooden board. A complete skateboard comes fully assembled with trucks, wheels, bearings, and grip tape — ready to skate right out of the box.

Are your skateboards good for beginners?

Yes! We offer beginner-friendly completes and decks in multiple sizes. If you're just starting out, look for standard shapes and sizes around 7.75" and 8.0”.

What type of wood are your decks made from?

Most of our decks are made from 7-ply Canadian maple — the industry standard for strength, durability, and pop

How long does a skateboard last?

It depends on how often and how hard you skate. A well-used board might last a few months, while casual riders may get a year or more. Cracks, chips, or razor tail are signs it’s time for a new deck.

How do I choose skateboard trucks?

rucks should match the width of your deck. Most brands list the recommended deck size in their truck specs. Wider trucks add stability; narrower trucks turn faster.
