Product Description
Cruising: The longer length of the board is angled more toward speed than cruising, so for the greater speed, you do sacrifice the ability to turn on a dime. However, with an open road, this baby will glide as if it were on ice.
Freeride: The symmetrical shape is good for worry free switching. The drop deck offers good stability, and helps start mid to high speed sliding.
Downhill: The long shape and slender body of the board is built for speed in mind. The symmetrical shape is good for worry free switching. The drop deck offers good stability, and helps start mid to high speed sliding.

Shiver Shark Aluminum 38" Drop Down Longboard - Key Questions Answered
What is this longboard best for?
It’s best for cruising, commuting, and mellow carving where stability matters more than top speed. The 38-inch drop-down shape keeps your stance low, which makes pushing and foot braking feel easier.
Is this a good choice for a newer rider?
Yes, if you want a board that feels steady and predictable right away. The lower platform helps reduce wobble, so learning to push, carve, and stop feels less intimidating.
How does the aluminum deck change the ride feel?
An aluminum deck feels firm and consistent underfoot, with less flex than many wood boards. That can make the board feel more controlled on rougher streets, though you may notice more road texture.
Would the 38-inch length be easier to live with day to day?
For most commuters, yes—it’s long enough for stable cruising without feeling oversized in tight spaces. That makes it a practical fit for sidewalks, paths, campus routes, and boardwalk riding.
How does this compare with a smaller or more downhill-focused board?
Compared with a smaller board, it will feel calmer and more settled at speed. Compared with a downhill-focused setup, it’s easier to use for everyday riding and gentle hills rather than aggressive runs.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

I am loving this board so far! I reached out to LBUSA to get some help finding the right board for me. They were more than helpful and the process of getting help, ordering the board, and then delivery was flawless. I am excited with my purchase and am thrilled with the customer service along the way. Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
