Santa Monica Airlines Ngoho 9.5" Skateboard Deck - Series 3 White Formica - Key Questions Answered
What kind of skating is this deck best for?
It is built for transition, bowls, and ramp skating, where a 9.5-inch platform feels stable and confident. The wider shape also suits cruising and old-school lines better than modern narrow street decks.
Is a 9.5-inch deck too wide for someone coming from an 8.0 or 8.25?
It can feel larger at first, but the added width gives you more landing room and steadier carves. If you want more control at speed and less sketch on drop-ins, the extra size makes sense.
How does this shape feel compared with a smaller street deck?
It feels calmer underfoot and more planted through turns, with the 7-ply maple keeping a familiar wood-deck snap. You give up some quick side-to-side agility, but gain confidence in bowls and transitions.
Would this work for taller riders or anyone who wants a roomier stance?
Yes, the 9.5-inch width gives taller riders more foot space and a less cramped stance. That extra room can make pushing, pumping, and landing feel easier and more controlled.
What should I expect if I want a classic reissue-style deck rather than a modern street setup?
Expect a traditional ride with a wider platform, old-school stance, and the Santa Monica Airlines reissue look. It is a strong pick if you want performance for transition plus a shape that also looks good on display.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.
