Punked Kicktail Longboard Deck - Route 66 Series - RTE-66 - Key Questions Answered
What kind of riding is this deck best for?
It’s best for cruising, commuting, and mellow carving where stability matters. The kicktail adds quick direction changes and helps you handle cracks, curbs, and tight spaces more easily.
Is this a good choice for a newer longboard rider?
Yes, if you want a stable board that still feels controllable. The stiff maple construction keeps the ride predictable, which can make learning turns and basic board control feel easier.
How does the kicktail change the ride?
The tail gives you leverage for sharper turns and easier lifting over rough pavement. It makes the deck more practical in real-world riding than a flat, no-tail board.
What should I expect from the ride feel of the maple deck?
Expect a firm, responsive feel with less flex than a softer deck. That usually means more precise pushing and carving, especially when you want the board to track consistently.
How does this compare to a smaller cruiser board?
It gives you more longboard stability while still staying nimble thanks to the kicktail. If you want comfort on longer rolls without losing quick maneuvering, this is a strong middle ground.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
