Primitive Nuevo Daybreak 8.12" Complete Skateboard - Key Questions Answered
Is 8.12" a good width for a first board?
Yes, it’s a strong middle-ground width for learning because it feels steadier than a narrow deck without getting bulky. That makes ollies, kickturns, and early flip-trick practice easier to control.
What kind of rider is this best suited for?
It suits new skaters, casual riders, and anyone wanting a balanced street-and-park setup. The 7-ply maple deck gives a familiar, durable feel that works well for everyday skating.
How does it feel compared with a smaller trick-focused board?
It feels a bit more planted underfoot, which helps on rough pavement and when landing tricks. You still get enough responsiveness to progress without feeling locked into one style.
Would this work for cruising around campus or the neighborhood?
Yes, the 8.12" platform is practical for short rides and quick stops between spots. It gives you extra control on imperfect pavement while staying easy to carry.
What should I expect if I’m comparing it to a wider board?
Expect a little more agility and quicker response than a wider setup, with less of that oversized feel. If you want stability first but still want to learn tricks, this width is a smart compromise.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

I am loving this board so far! I reached out to LBUSA to get some help finding the right board for me. They were more than helpful and the process of getting help, ordering the board, and then delivery was flawless. I am excited with my purchase and am thrilled with the customer service along the way. Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
