Omen Maori Mask 41.5" Drop Through with Kicktail Longboard Deck - Key Questions Answered
Is this deck a good choice for cruising and learning freeride basics?
Yes, its 41.5" drop-through shape is stable for relaxed cruising and gives newer riders a calmer platform to practice controlled slides and freeride basics. The lower ride height also makes pushing and speed checks feel easier on longer rides.
How does the kicktail change the way this board rides?
The kicktail makes quick direction changes and kickturns much easier than on a straight pintail-style cruiser. That helps in tight streets, campus paths, and any route with frequent obstacles or sharp corners.
Would this be too long or bulky for everyday city use?
No, 41.5" is still very manageable if you want stability without going to an oversized downhill deck. It feels more planted than a shorter board, which is useful when your route includes rough pavement or longer pushes.
What kind of rider will benefit most from this shape?
Riders who want one board for cruising, commuting, and learning smoother downhill control will get the most from it. It suits someone who values confidence and versatility more than a super-snappy, technical setup.
How does it compare with a top-mount deck?
A drop-through deck like this rides lower and feels easier to push and foot brake than most top-mounts. A top-mount may feel more lively, but this one is calmer and more forgiving for everyday use.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
