The Wendigo throws "power orbs" in the mix, which is strategically placed W concave. It mixes with the 3D to create cool pockets to lock your feet into for tucking or kicking out slides. Madrid Wendigo 33.75" Freeride Longboard - Icon Series - Key Questions Answered
Is this a good choice if I’m learning freeride slides and want more control than a typical cruiser?
Yes, the low drop-through stance helps keep you planted and makes stand-up slides feel less sketchy. It suits riders who want to build confidence on hill runs or parking garage sessions without jumping to a full downhill setup.
How does the 33.75" length affect stability and street handling?
It lands in a sweet spot: stable enough for faster lines, but still easy to manage on real streets. You get a calm platform without the sluggish feel of a much longer board.
What should I expect from the ride feel compared with a higher, top-mounted longboard?
Expect a lower, more grounded ride that feels calmer at speed and more predictable when braking or sliding. The tradeoff is less leverage for deep carving, which is normal for a stability-focused shape.
Would this work for a beginner who mainly wants to practice downhill control?
Yes, especially if the goal is learning foot braking and controlled drifting instead of aggressive carving. The setup is aimed at riders who want a forgiving platform while they dial in technique.
How does this compare with a shorter freeride board or a budget big-box complete?
It should feel more stable and confidence-building than a shorter board, while staying more purpose-built than many cheap completes. That makes it a strong middle-ground pick for riders who want predictable freeride performance.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
