Madrid Retro Bill Danforth Freeride Limited Edition Longboard Deck - Key Questions Answered
What is this deck best used for?
It’s built for freeride, speed control, and slide practice, not just casual cruising. The 9-ply maple platform gives you a stable feel for stand-up slides and downhill-style sessions.
Is this a good choice if I’m still getting comfortable with slides?
Yes, if you already have some board control and want a deck that feels predictable when you break traction. Its stiffness and steady platform can make slide initiation feel less sketchy than a softer deck.
How does the ride feel compared with a lighter composite freeride deck?
Expect a more classic, solid maple feel with less damping than premium composite boards. You give up some ultra-light performance, but you keep a reliable, straightforward ride at a lower price.
What should I expect from the 38-inch size in daily use?
A 38-inch deck gives you enough platform for confident foot placement without feeling oversized. It’s a practical length for freeride sessions, parking-lot practice, and weekend carving.
Why pick this limited edition over a standard freeride deck?
You get the same rider-focused freeride shape plus the Bill Danforth graphic and small-run appeal. It’s a smart pick if you want function first, with a collectible finish that stands out.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

I am loving this board so far! I reached out to LBUSA to get some help finding the right board for me. They were more than helpful and the process of getting help, ordering the board, and then delivery was flawless. I am excited with my purchase and am thrilled with the customer service along the way. Top notch!

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
