Madrid Nessie 35.75" Freeride Downhill Longboard - Icon Series - Key Questions Answered
Is this a good choice if I want to learn downhill and freeride without feeling unstable?
Yes, its 35.75" drop-through shape is built for a lower, calmer ride at speed. That planted feel can make hill runs and first slide attempts feel more controlled than a taller board.
What kind of rider is this board best suited for?
It fits riders moving into speed control, freeride, and slide practice. If you want something more focused than a casual cruiser but not as demanding as a race setup, this is a strong middle-ground option.
How does the ride feel compared with a shorter or more cruise-oriented longboard?
It should feel steadier and less twitchy, especially once you build speed. The longer platform and drop-through mounting help reduce the “tippy” feeling you get on more upright, surfy boards.
Would this work for campus hills and daily pushing?
Yes, the lower ride height makes pushing less tiring and helps on repeat hill laps. It is a practical pick if you want one board for commuting across campus and working on controlled descents.
What should I expect if I’m comparing it with other freeride boards in this size range?
Expect a stability-first feel with a grippy top graphic that helps keep your feet planted during speed checks and slides. It is a sensible benchmark if you want confidence and control without chasing a premium race build.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

I am loving this board so far! I reached out to LBUSA to get some help finding the right board for me. They were more than helpful and the process of getting help, ordering the board, and then delivery was flawless. I am excited with my purchase and am thrilled with the customer service along the way. Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
