Gravity Carve South Pacific 39" Longboard - Key Questions Answered
Is this a good choice for a first longboard, or is it better for riders who already know what they want?
It works well for first-time buyers who want a stable carve-focused setup, not a twitchy street board. The 39" deck gives you more foot room, which helps new riders feel balanced sooner.
What kind of riding does this board feel best for?
It is best for smooth cruising, surf-style carving, and easy pumping on paths or campus routes. If you like linking turns more than doing tight tricks, this is the right direction.
How does the ride feel compared with a shorter, more compact board?
This will feel steadier and more relaxed, with broader turns and less nervous steering. The longer platform and reverse kingpin trucks are better for flowing lines than quick snap turns.
Would this work for commuting or rolling around campus?
Yes, especially if your route includes smooth pavement and you want a comfortable, predictable ride. It is easier to keep balanced at moderate speed than a smaller board.
What should I expect if I want a board that feels easy to control without spending top-dollar?
Expect a solid mid-range carve board that focuses on everyday usability over specialty performance. It gives you the feel most casual riders want without pushing into pricier custom-build territory.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

I am loving this board so far! I reached out to LBUSA to get some help finding the right board for me. They were more than helpful and the process of getting help, ordering the board, and then delivery was flawless. I am excited with my purchase and am thrilled with the customer service along the way. Top notch!

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
