Globe Ablaze Black Dye 8.0" Complete Skateboard - Key Questions Answered
What is this 8.0" board best for?
This size is best for everyday street skating, neighborhood cruising, and learning basic park riding. The 8.0" platform gives you enough stability for regular pavement while staying nimble in tighter spots.
Is an 8.0" width a good choice for beginners?
Yes, 8.0" is a strong starting point because it balances control and maneuverability well. It feels more confidence-inspiring than a narrower deck but not as bulky as wider setups when you're learning turns and push control.
How does this board feel compared to a smaller cruiser?
It will feel more planted underfoot and more versatile for mixed use than a small cruiser. You give up some ultra-compact portability, but the 8.0" shape is better if you want cruising plus room to progress into tricks or park laps.
Will this size work for day-to-day campus or neighborhood use?
Yes, the 8.0" width makes sense for campus paths, sidewalks, and short daily rides where you want steady footing. It is easier to live with than a larger longboard while still feeling stable for casual commuting.
Who should choose this instead of going cheaper or building a custom setup?
Choose this if you want a dependable mid-range option without guessing through parts or sizing. Around the $98 to $108 range, it makes sense for riders who want Globe's proven all-around feel without paying custom-build money.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
