Element Tropic 8.0" Complete Skateboard - Key Questions Answered
Is an 8.0-inch board a good choice for a first skateboard?
Yes, 8.0 is a very workable size for new riders because it feels stable without getting bulky. It’s a common middle ground for learning balance, pushing, and basic tricks.
What kind of skating is this size best for?
It suits street skating, park sessions, and casual cruising well. The 8.0 width gives you enough control for ollies and turns while still staying agile.
How does it feel compared with a narrower deck?
It feels less twitchy and easier to stand on than a narrower board. That extra stability can help if you’re still building confidence or want a calmer ride.
Would this work for riding to class or around the neighborhood?
Yes, this size is a solid pick for short daily rides and casual cruising. It gives you predictable control on normal pavement without feeling hard to maneuver.
What should I expect if I want one board for cruising and park practice?
Expect a balanced ride that handles both fairly well, rather than excelling at only one thing. It’s a practical choice if you want one board for learning, commuting, and progressing at the park.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
