Darkstar Timeworks Mint Soft Top 6.5" Skateboard - Key Questions Answered
Who is this board best suited for?
It’s best for smaller riders, especially kids and true beginners who want easier foot placement and lighter-feeling control. The 6.5" deck is more forgiving when learning basic balance, turning, and stopping.
How does the soft top grip change the ride?
The soft top gives a less abrasive feel underfoot and can feel more comfortable for smaller shoes. It still helps reduce slipping, which is useful when learning foot placement and pushing around.
Would this work well for neighborhood cruising and park practice?
Yes, it works well for short cruising, driveway practice, and learning simple park basics. Its compact size makes it easier to steer and correct than a wider board.
How does a 6.5" deck compare with a wider board?
A 6.5" board feels quicker and easier to manage, while wider decks usually feel steadier at speed. If the rider is small or just starting out, this size is often less intimidating.
What should I expect from this as a first skateboard?
Expect a board that helps build confidence fast without feeling bulky or hard to control. It’s a practical pick for a first setup when comfort, turning, and simple learning matter most.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
