Antihero Raney Refuse 8.63" Skateboard Deck - Key Questions Answered
What is this 8.63" deck best for?
It is best for street and park skating where you want a stable platform for faster lines, stair sets, and solid landings. The 8.63" width gives you more room underfoot without feeling overly bulky.
Who is this size a good fit for?
This size works well for skaters who want more support than an 8.25 but do not want to jump to a much larger board. It suits riders building a controlled, slightly wider setup for technical street or park use.
How does this deck feel compared with a narrower board?
It feels more planted and forgiving on landings than a narrower deck, especially when you are skating faster or hitting bigger spots. You still get enough snap and quick adjustment for tight street tricks.
Is this a good choice for newer skaters?
It can be, especially if a newer skater wants a more stable feel underfoot rather than the quickest flick possible. The 8.63" platform is easier to stand on confidently, though many intermediate and advanced riders will get the most from it.
Why choose this Antihero deck over a cheaper maple deck?
This 7-ply maple deck sits in the normal range for a core brand board, which matters if you want dependable pop and a familiar flex. Cheaper decks can feel dull sooner, while this is aimed at real street and park sessions.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
