Antihero Grant Taylor 8.38" Skateboard Deck - Key Questions Answered
What kind of skating is the 8.38" size best for?
This size fits skaters who want one board for both street and park use. The 8.38" platform gives you more landing room on stairs and more confidence in transition without feeling overly bulky.
Is 8.38" a good choice if 8.25" decks feel too twitchy?
Yes, 8.38" is a smart step up if you want more stability without a huge jump in size. It keeps a quicker feel than wider setups while giving you better control on landings, carving, and fast park lines.
How does this deck feel underfoot for tricks and everyday sessions?
It should feel stable, responsive, and familiar thanks to the classic 7-ply maple build. That translates to solid pop, predictable flick, and a planted feel when your old deck starts to feel dead or inconsistent.
Who is this deck the right fit for?
It suits skaters who already know they want a wider street-and-park shape rather than a narrow technical setup. If you value control, cleaner landings, and confidence in transition, the 8.38" width makes sense.
Why choose this over a cheaper blank or shop deck?
This is a Grant Taylor pro model from Antihero, so you are paying for a proven shape and consistent 7-ply maple construction. It makes more sense for riders who care about dependable feel and long-session performance over lowest price.

Skater since 1974, pool pipe and skatepark, I've ridden it all but these Carver C7 trucks were a revelation. Best for slow speed styling and generally hanging some art on mellow terrain.
Definitely a kick and worth trying.

I've never had a board I've loved this much. Made with coconut fibers and Hawaiian print cloth. I'm in love. Abec 7s are smoothe, grips great. Overall 10/10

Well built and super fun to skate on. Wheels work well on imperfect pavement and sidewalk cracks. Bearings are legit.

Kiddo got this board for Christmas, for us to ride on Route 66. Board is good quality. No name trucks, but they function well for her. She likes the Punked Speed Series wheels. We did put reds super bearings in it. The factory bearings do not roll near as well. For the price, for a complete, it is well worth it. This is our second Punked Longboard, and both have served their purpose. I would buy from this company, and Vendor again, without question.

Trippy assym setup with Rogue ZM1's and assorted wheels really rips for downhill! I also hope to run cones with it soon.
