Downhill
Downhill longboarding is for the experts and adrenaline junkies. It is all about speed, sliding hands down, carving, and drifting. A lot of downhill longboarders participate in races and it is all about huge hills and going down as fast as possible. The riders get into a tucked position and put all their weight on their front foot to get maximum speed. Before doing this, you need to know how to slide and stop yourself and it goes mostly straight down the hill with some s-turns to get maximum speed.

What type of longboard is best for downhill?

Downhill is all about speed. Higher speeds require more stability, so you want a stiff board, not too long and the board you use for downhill racing should probably be directional.

Can you use a downhill longboard for cruising?

Downhill boards are made for speed, mostly to ride from a hill in a "strait" line. Cruiser boards are made for relaxed riding on a mainly flat service with some carving movement. You can use each board for the other riding style, however it will be far from optimal and not something we advice.

What makes a good downhill longboard?

A good downhill longboard should have a stable and stiff deck with a low center of gravity, providing better control and stability at high speeds. It should also have trucks with a wide turning radius for better control, and wheels that are durable and provide good grip and speed.

What safety precautions should be taken when riding a downhill longboard?

When riding a downhill longboard, it is important to wear appropriate safety gear such as a helmet, gloves, and knee and elbow pads. Riders should also ensure that their longboard is in good condition and appropriate for the terrain they will be riding. They should always ride within their skill level and follow traffic rules and regulations. It is also recommended to ride in a group and have a spotter for added safety.
